BTC Locations Closed to the Public - Online Learning Continues

March 18, 2020

In light of the Governor’s announcement yesterday, the college will be closed to the public effective Wednesday, March 18 at 5 p.m. These precautions are to help slow the spread and minimize the risk of exposure to our students and employees. While we do not yet have a COVID-19 case in our College District, we are concerned about the safety and well-being of our employees and students.

These are certainly unusual times; unlike anything any of us have seen in our lifetimes. We truly appreciate your patience as the situation continues to evolve. Please know that every decision we make has our students at the center. We are doing everything we can to minimize the disruption to our students’ educational journeys.

Most of our services are available through links on the homepage of our student/employee portal (MyBTC). Students who need extra support during this difficult time are encouraged to reach out to student resources through Starfish (available via MyBTC).

All non-essential employees will be working remotely. Remote employees will be available (virtually) during business hours to support our students.

If Blackhawk students need access to the internet, a list of resources for students without internet access can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions at www.blackhawk.edu/coronavirus.

If students need help to learn how to use our online tools, visit MyBTC and follow the link on the homepage to Yuja video. Here students and employees can access a variety of training and academic videos.

If a Blackhawk student needs access to a computer in order to complete online coursework, they should contact the Help Desk at (608) 757-7711 or email helpdesk@blackhawk.edu.

These changes are effective at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 18 until further notice. Please note, online learning is ongoing.

The health and well-being of our students and employees remain our top priority. Because the situation is ever-changing, we will continue to monitor it closely and share updates.
