Changes to the COVID-19 Testing Site at BTC

February 1, 2021

Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 3, the community-wide testing site at BTC will transition from a drive-thru process to an indoor walk-in site. Testing will occur in Lot H (adjacent to the tented area) to ensure that testing can continue regardless of inclement weather.

Individuals coming for testing should enter BTC’s Central Campus from Highway 51 and follow the signs to Lot H. Please remain in your vehicle until it is your turn for testing. The Wisconsin National Guard and the Rock County Public Health Department ask for your patience while adjusting to this new process.

Free COVID-19 testing is available weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. at Blackhawk Technical College – Central Campus, located at 6004 South County Highway G, Janesville, WI. Testing will continue through Mar. 10, 2021.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended at register.covidconnect.wi.gov. Individuals can register themselves on-site if necessary. A Spanish-language interpreter will be available periodically for those who don’t speak English.

In collaboration with Rock County and the Wisconsin National Guard, 650 COVID-19 tests per day are available to anyone five years and older. Testing is encouraged for those with COVID-19 symptoms, including:

  • Cough
  • Fever
  • Sudden Loss of Taste/Smell
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Sore Throat
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle Pain
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • Chills
  • Headache

Volunteers are needed to fill support functions at the testing site. People interested in volunteering can register on-line here.
