PAS Headed to National Professional Agricultural Students Competition

Blackhawk Technical College Professional Agriculture Students (PAS) are headed to the national contest in Loveland, Colorado March 12-17, 2019. Students from the BTC Agribusiness program will participate in the contest and tour a number of agricultural businesses; including, Kinze Manufacturing, Lely Robotic Milkers, Dupont Pioneer Research Facility, USDA Seed Preservation and Cryogenic Vault, Five Rivers Feedlot (100,000 head feedlot), and Wholesale Greenhouse suppliers.

The students competed and excelled in the WI Professional Agricultural Students (PAS) Competitive Events Conference on February 12-13.

  • Forestry and Natural Resources: Brett Hammon (3rd)
  • Fruit and Vegetable Crop production: Steven Herbst (1st)
  • Landscape and Nursery: Christen Clark (3rd)

  • All contestants qualified to compete in the soils competition at the national contest

The Professional Agriculture Students and their advisor, Dusty Williams, will be recognized at the District Board meeting at 5:00 p.m. on March 20, 2019, at the Blackhawk Technical College Monroe Campus.
