Hiring Process FAQs

Learn more about our hiring process

Once you’ve created an account in the online system, you can log back into the system as a returning candidate. This will allow you to see the status of the positions in which you’ve applied.

A resume is a great starting point for your application. The resume will help to populate information into your application. Your application will ask you to include employers (past and present), telephone numbers, dates of employment, and reasons for leaving.

You are also encouraged to attach a cover letter and your transcripts for review of your credentials.

When a job posting indicates that there is a closing date, it means that Human Resources has set a final deadline for applications. Applications will not be accepted after the closing date, and the position will no longer be listed on the employment site.

You must submit a separate application for each position. Our online application process allows you to retrieve and submit your application for multiple jobs.

Candidates are encouraged to submit their application to a specific opening. This will allow your credentials and qualifications to be reviewed and considered for an opening.

However, if no specific position matches your career interests, please click on the "Connect With Us" link on our job postings search page. You will be able to upload your resume and receive communications on future posted positions.

Opportunities for part-time and temporary positions are posted on our employment site. You will need to submit an application for positions of interest.

Following the closing date of a position, all applications are reviewed, and decisions will be made based on qualifications who will be interviewed and considered for the position.

Our adjunct instructors and part-time casual positions are often reviewed within the specific department with the employment need.  At times, these positions may be open for several months to allow a pool of candidates to build for an anticipated opportunity for an upcoming semester.  Departments will reach out to candidates to arrange for interview if credentials match what is needed within the opening.

All applications need to be submitted through our online system. If you have trouble with the system, please reach out to Human Resources via email at humanresources@blackhawk.edu, or (608) 757-7775 for assistance with your application.

Blackhawk Technical College fully complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), which makes it unlawful to discriminate in employment against a qualified individual with a disability. As an employer, we follow the ADA and make reasonable accommodations for employees to be successful within their position. As an applicant, if you need accommodations to the interview process, please contact Blackhawk's Talent Management Specialist at (608) 743-4421 or humanresources@blackhawk.edu.
