As part of our commitment to keeping quality education affordable, Blackhawk Technical College’s tuition and fees are among the lowest in the state. After your acceptance into the College, we expect you to meet with our Financial Aid Office to discuss the costs of attending. Below are details and policies regarding tuition, fees, and alternative ways to cover your college costs.

Standard Tuition and Fees
All programs are subject to a uniform fee per credit established by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board and state legislature. The rate is subject to change. Certain unique courses and programs are exempt from program fees.

  • $219.30/Credit

Other Fees

Activity Fee

  • $10.23/Credit

Transportation Fee: $20 per semester

Program-Specific Fees: Varies
Some programs have supplemental expenses (i.e. tools and uniforms, special exams) or fees to cover background checks. All courses are subject to a material fee per credit established by the state. These fees vary by both the program you are in and the different costs of material used in each course. Certain unique courses and programs are exempt from material fees. Sponsoring Agencies

We will work with agencies that intend to pay your expenses. The sponsoring agency must submit a written agreement to Registration and Records indicating which expenses will be paid on your behalf. After enrolling, Blackhawk Technical College we will bill the sponsoring agency for your approved expenses. Educational Agreements

If you live in northern Illinois (Rock Valley College or Highland Community College District) you may qualify for an educational agreement that would grant you in-state tuition rates. If you do not live within this district, out-of-state tuition rates may apply.

Out-of-State Tuition Waiver

As an out-of-state student, you will be required to pay out-of-state tuition in addition to other fees if an educational agreement does not apply to you. However, you may request a non-resident tuition waiver if you feel that you are unable to pay the out-of-state rate. Complete the attached form and submit it for review to see if you qualify!
