Blackhawk Welcomes Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra for the 2023-2024 Season
Blackhawk Technical College will host the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra’s 2023-2024 Season in its new Conference Center at Central Campus, situated conveniently between Beloit and Janesville.
“There is community building in the shared experience of enjoying live music together. The Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra is a community organization that serves two cities. In bringing those two cities together in one space, we create a broader and more impactful community focused on keeping the performing arts alive,” said Sara Lemen, BJSO’s Executive Director. “We are able to fulfill a large part of our mission thanks to the partnership with Blackhawk Technical College.”
The symphony’s 2023-24 season is titled “Music in Harmony,” highlighting the new partnership and the bringing together of patrons from across the area.
“I am thrilled for Blackhawk to partner with the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra. Through this collaboration, we aim to foster a deeper appreciation for the arts while enriching the cultural fabric of our campus and beyond,” said Dr. Tracy Pierner, President of Blackhawk Technical College. “We are excited to create a platform where the symphony’s performances can inspire and uplift students, faculty, staff and all those who join us.”
The debut performance in Blackhawk’s Conference Center, 6004 S. County Road G, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. and will spotlight “The World of Tchaikovsky.”
