Leaving her full-time job to attend school wasn’t going to work for Lisa Anderson. She needed a flexible and supportive program that worked around her schedule.

The Sharon native, who is in Blackhawk’s Dental Hygiene program, said taking her general courses online enabled her to do just that.

Already working in the dental field, Lisa heard about Blackhawk’s new Dental Hygienist program and decided it was a good time to return to school.

In addition to being able to work while attending school, Lisa was the recipient of some grants to help pay for tuition. It’s that flexibility and assistance that made it possible for her to go back to school.

Besides being close to where she lives, Lisa liked the smaller class sizes and appreciates that the College understands what adult students need to achieve success.

“I am so happy that Blackhawk understands the need for adults to be able to work while going back to school,” she said.

Planning to graduate in Spring 2024, Lisa hopes to work as a dental hygienist in the area.
