Welcome Trayvon Crain, Student Success Intern at Blackhawk
Interning with Blackhawk’s Student Success department for the summer is sure to get Trayvon Crain on the right track to becoming an educator. A student at Rock University High School, he also takes college classes here at Blackhawk and plans on graduating in 2023.
Trayvon applied for the Summer 2022 Rock County Internship Program, which pairs students with fields related to their interests and allows them to get real-world experience, hoping to learn about the school’s inner workings and what makes a school function. He also hopes to improve his communication and teamwork skills.
“This internship will give me a better insight on what I need to improve or work on for my future job, as I’m going to be working with a team of educators, advisors, and other important members within this community who have more experience and a better understanding than I do,” he said.
Choosing to be an educator isn’t something that Trayvon decided to just do one day out of the blue.
“Without the guidance of my teachers and other important educational staff, I wouldn’t be on this path right now,” he said. “Connections between students and teachers are what allowed me to overcome those obstacles and challenges.”
Trayvon is a part of many clubs at RUHS including the Student Leadership Council and eSports. He also helps tutor their fellow students in subjects including math, chemistry, and psychology.
In his free time, Trayvon enjoys playing video games, drawing, writing, reading, and sleeping.
