Brianna Deering has been in the education field for over twenty-five years, beginning in elementary education and later transitioning to higher ed. She enjoys the opportunity to motivate students to learn and to achieve their educational and career goals.

Each year, many community organizations step up to support Blackhawk Technical College students and its mission. The year 2020 was a challenging year for many. The pandemic brought new challenges to many BTC students and Mercyhill Church of Rock County wanted to help.

Congratulations to the Human Services Associate degree program at Blackhawk Technical College for receiving initial accreditation by the Council for Standards in Human Service Education (CSHSE). The program initially launched during the 2018-19 academic year.

Ethan Learned is a second-generation BTC culinary student who was the featured Chef of the Week on April 1, 2021. In attendance was Joe, the Head Chef at Legend of Bergamont, a restaurant connected to a country club in Oregon, Wisconsin, a man that Ethan happens to call dad. 

Skills pay the bills, or so the popular adage goes. Welding, in one form or another, has been an integral part of the global workforce for more than 2,000 years. While the technology of welding has evolved dramatically since the Iron Age, the need for skilled welders is greater than ever and guess what – it pays well too!
