BTC's CLEP Policy

Our CLEP Policy

In order to take a CLEP exam at Blackhawk Technical College, you must register with CLEP and then schedule your exam with our Testing Center.

CLEP Exam Fees

Each CLEP exam costs $87 (to be paid directly to CLEP), along with a $25 administration fee to be paid directly to Blackhawk Technical College's Registration and Records on the day of your scheduled test. Beginning July 1, 2024, the cost for CLEP testing is increasing to $95 per test.

Testing Requirements

Please print and bring your registration ticket along with your driver's license, passport, or other government-issued identification that includes your photograph and signature. You will be asked to show your ticket and identification to be admitted to the testing area. The last name(s) on your ID must match the name on your registration ticket.

Please review our Testing Center Policies prior to your exam day. Cell phones, calculators, tablets, PDAs of any kind, beepers, alarm watches, books, papers, and food are not allowed in the testing room. A calculator is provided if your exam requires you to use one. Each exam lasts approximately two hours. Please plan accordingly.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, please call our Testing Center as soon as possible at (608) 757-7666. If you do not notify the Testing Center at least 30 minutes before your scheduled testing appointment, you will forfeit your $87 CLEP exam fee.

Special Accommodations

If you have disabilities and require accommodations, you must make arrangements well in advance of the exam date. Contact CLEP Services at clep@info.collegeboard.org for information about types of CLEP accommodations and approval.
