- Must have obtained a degree (associate degree or technical diploma) from Blackhawk Technical College.
- Current Blackhawk employees, district board members, and Foundation board members are not eligible for consideration.
- Nominees who may be perceived to have a conflict of interest (i.e., grant funders, grant recipients, etc.) with the institution will not be considered.
- The award is not presented in absentia but may be presently posthumously.
- All nominations will remain active/in consideration for three (3) years.
- Political candidates may not be selected or honored in a year in which they are actively pursuing election or re-election.
- Awards may be withdrawn by the selection committee for any cause which reflects poorly upon Blackhawk Technical College.
- Selection will be made on the basis of the following criteria:
- Exhibits outstanding leadership and character
- Achieved significant accomplishments in career field
- Exhibits outstanding service to the community
- Supports Blackhawk Technical College
All candidates will be considered regardless of race, gender, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or religion.
