Dental Hygiene Student Returns to Blackhawk for Program
When Sara Gibson heard about Blackhawk’s new Dental Hygienist program, she knew she wanted to be part of it to further her education.
The Milton native has worked in the dental field for the past eight years after completing the college’s Dental Assistant program.
“Working with the ten girls in my program, we all have been working together as a team to push each to succeed in the program,” she said.
After running into obstacles over the last number of years while being on waiting lists to start a Dental Hygienist program, Sara says going back to school has been a little challenging.
While her second go-round at Blackhawk has helped her pursue her dream, Sara credits the knowledgeable teachers with helping her prepare for the examinations she’ll have to take after completing the program.
“I feel Blackhawk overall has good, successful programs with good staff that wants to help students succeed in life and their future,” she said.
With an eye on graduation in 2024, Sara is interested in earning a bachelor’s degree.
