Dental Hygienist Student Returned to Blackhawk for New Program
Miranda Slaback wanted to start classes in a Dental Hygiene program earlier, but the schools she tried to get into in Wisconsin and Iowa didn’t work out.
“I thought my dream of becoming a hygienist would never happen until Blackhawk started this program,” she said.
The Parker graduate completed the Dental Assistant program at Blackhawk in 2015 but wanted to continue her education in the dental field. Miranda appreciated the fact that the Dental Hygiene program was offered at a College she was familiar with and so close to home.
Miranda is still able to work part-time as a dental assistant at the clinic she has worked at for nearly three years. That, coupled with the small class size where everybody gets to know each other, were other reasons she wanted to enroll.
“I would recommend Blackhawk because they are very good at getting you started in the direction you need to go,” she said.
Miranda plans to graduate in May 2024 and hopes to continue working at her current dental office as a hygienist.
