Get to Know Collin Fowler, Business Management Student

Image

What is your name? Where did you grow up and what high school did you attend?

Collin Fowler. I grew up in Kenosha and attended Indian Trail High School.

Why did you choose to attend Blackhawk Technical College?

It’s relatively close to my house, and I love how flexible it is!

What is your area of study? Is there something that drew you to the program?

My program of study is Business Management. I already know much about the media aspect, and now I want to learn about the business portion.

How has Blackhawk helped you to pursue or complete your goals?

The people have made it enjoyable. The teachers and students have been very caring and understanding. Let’s not forget about the flexibility; If I cannot make it to class in person, I can join on Zoom.

Are there any academic achievements that you’ve been proud to accomplish in your time at Blackhawk?

I’ve been keeping really good grades.

When do you plan to graduate and what are your plans for life after Blackhawk?

I hope to own my own business, maybe a fast-food franchise. My ultimate goal is to own a Culver’s!

What advice do you have for other individuals who are considering Blackhawk?

If you believe a 4-year college isn’t right for you, Blackhawk is the perfect place to start. You can always further your degree once you’re done at Blackhawk. Blackhawk is also very nice, and everything is remodeled so the facility is gorgeous.

Tell us something about yourself you think people would be surprised to know.

I have my own podcast called “Hawk Hustle,” where I interview successful people from the Wisconsin area. It’s on all streaming platforms. (Editor's note: The podcast is available through Apple and Spotify.)

Who is your biggest influence?

My parents are my biggest influence. They work very hard every day, so I strive to follow their tracks. A local business owner from the Kenosha area had advice that will stick with me for the rest of my life: “If you work harder than everybody else around you, you won’t be out anything. You will be ahead of them.”

If you could have dinner with anybody, alive or dead, who would you choose?

I would have dinner with Elon Musk, because he is a very wise and smart person.

What was your first job?

Cleaning tables at the Rock Bar and Grill.

What's one song that must always be on your playlist?

“Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott

What is your favorite TV show?

“SWAT” is my favorite TV show.

Do you have a favorite video game?

I like playing “2K24,” which is a basketball video game.

What is your favorite pizza topping?

Pineapple. Don’t make fun of me, haha!

What/who is your favorite sports team or pro athlete?

I’m a huge Packers/Jordan Love fan. I hope they can make it to the Super Bowl soon!

If you could have any superpower, which one would you pick?

I would choose to fly so I could go places really quickly.

If you could be any animal, which one would you choose and why?

I would be a dog because dogs have a lot of fun and live a good life with their owner.

What would be your dream car to own?

I hope to own a blacked-out Dodge Charger someday with tinted windows.

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met? Tell us the story of how you met.

I have met a lot of famous people, but my favorite has been Craig Culver, the founder of Culver’s. He’s a super nice guy, and we actually recorded one of our first podcasts with him.

I have also filmed content with “Deanobballin,” a TikTok star with 5.1 Million followers. I filmed a one-on-one basketball video against his friend Sergio. That was a cool experience.
