Where did you grow up and what high school did you attend?
I grew up in Beloit and attended Beloit Memorial High School.
Why did you choose to attend Blackhawk Technical College?
Blackhawk Technical College encompasses the morals and values of my educational journey.
What is your area of study? Is there something that drew you to the program?
My area of study is Human Services, which intrigued me because of my advocacy and community involvement in non-profit organizations.
How has Blackhawk helped you to pursue or complete your goals?
Blackhawk has created networking opportunities that allow me to expand my educational journey beyond Blackhawk to complete my master’s degree.
Have you had to overcome any obstacles or challenges on your educational journey?
Balancing professional and personal obligations presents daily obstacles. However, utilizing my communication and organizational skills has allowed me to overcome these obstacles effectively. I’ve also been able to assist others who may be in similar situations.
Are you involved in any student organizations or extracurricular activities at Blackhawk?
I am the President of the Minority Excellence Organization (MEO) and a member of Business Professionals of America.
Are there any academic achievements that you’ve been proud to accomplish in your time at Blackhawk?
Obtaining the position of President of MEO, being involved with my peers, and developing academic relationships with my instructors have been great accomplishments thus far.
When do you plan to graduate and what are your plans for life after Blackhawk?
I’ll graduate with my Associate Degree in 2026. I then plan to complete my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Human Services. I’m working towards obtaining leadership roles at the state level within Human Services.
What advice do you have for other individuals who are considering Blackhawk?
Blackhawk is a phenomenal opportunity to enhance your educational experience. Furthering your education in this scholastic environment is extremely resourceful and rewarding.
Tell us something about yourself you think people would be surprised to know.
I love to ride motorcycles and horses. I’m fluent in three languages.

Who is your biggest influence?
My biggest influence is my father Charles Richardson, who has taught me various perspectives of patience in life.
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
One thing on my achievement list is to meet Michelle Obama.
