What is your name, and where did you grow up?

My name is Stan Klatka, and I grew up in Chicago.

What is your role at Blackhawk Technical College?

I am the new Digital Marketing Instructor.

What was your journey to this role?

I had a long career in corporate America and was an entrepreneur with three start-up businesses. Finally, I transitioned into teaching as a business professor, working full-time at three prior universities and colleges.  

Where did you go to school? What did you study?

I have a Bachelor’s in Marketing from St. Joseph’s College, Indiana, a Master’s in Management from Dominican University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Northcentral University.

Is there something that drew you to this career?

I have always loved marketing and business and now enjoy teaching it to others.

What motivated you to apply for this position at Blackhawk?

I was a first-generation college student who spent a year at Triton College before transferring to a four-year school. So, I have an affinity for tech/community colleges and their students.

What do you like most about working at Blackhawk?

It’s very welcoming, and everyone is open to help.

What is your life like outside of work? Family? Community involvement? Adorable pets?

I have been happily married for 38 years and have three grown children who are all married and have four grandchildren.

What is your favorite TV show?

“Seinfeld”

What game show would you most want to participate in? Do you think you could win?

“Family Feud”  and yes, of course, I think I could win!

If you could learn any language, which one would you choose?

French

A trip around the world.
