Welcome Sarah Paul, Advising Team Intern at Blackhawk

Image

Sarah Paul is an intern this summer with Blackhawk’s Advising Team while she pursues her master’s degree in Higher Education and Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

This is not her first time at Blackhawk. Sarah earned her medical assistant certificate here and worked as a CMA for six years before starting her master’s degree program.

Sarah, who grew up in Whitewater, also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studies of Education from Edgewood College.

As a CMA student at Blackhawk, Sarah loved the small community feel that she experienced, so when the opportunity came for her to take an intern position in the advising department, she jumped at it.

“I envision this internship will help open more doors to join the higher education community as I finish my masters,” she said.

Sarah also hopes to learn more about the policies and software programs used by advising staff to help guide incoming and current students. She specifically hopes to learn more about the Starfish program.

“Starfish is a great program that students, faculty, and advising staff use. I hope to learn more about it and how to utilize it to guide students down their career journey,” she said.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, crafts, hiking and singing in her a capella group, Comeback Chorus. She also has two dogs, Rufio and Batty Koda, and as a big Robin Williams fan, she wants to name her next dog Mrs. Doubtfire.

Welcome to Blackhawk, Sarah!
