Registering for Classes

After you have applied and been accepted into your program, you may register for your program (credit) classes. If you would like to register for a community education or training (non-credit) class, click here

If you are a continuing student, you will receive priority registration in order to stay on track for graduation. This means, during scheduled dates, you may register for classes before new students. It is important to take advantage of this opportunity, because once registration is opened to all students, course availability becomes limited.

How do I register for classes?

Online registration is available to current students and newly accepted students via MyBTC.

Walk-In Registration (Central Campus)
Monday – Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Walk-In Registration (Monroe Campus)
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Important Registration Definitions

It is your responsibility to attend your courses on a regular basis. As a part of Blackhawk Technical College's commitment to student success, we do have a non-attendance policy. If you fail to attend any portion of a course's scheduled sessions through the first two-weeks of a full-semester (or in the first week for accelerated and eight week courses), your instructor will initiate your withdrawal from the course for non-attendance. There will be no refund granted to your account without your direct request for an evaluation. If you are withdrawn for non-attendance you will not be allowed to attend the course without first re-registering and paying all appropriate fees. Being withdrawn for non-attendance may also impact your financial aid.

If you owe the College money for tuition that has accrued for the current semester, the College has the option to withdraw you from all registered credit classes. This drop process will occur immediately following the due date for the second payment of your payment plan and also two weeks prior to the start of the semester. It is your responsibility to review your schedule to determine if you have been withdrawn and need to re-register for courses. This will occur for all students regardless of how you registered or whether or not you were on a payment plan.

You can drop a class or all of your classes before the end of the drop/add period. Your BTC account will be credited, and after all fees have been paid, a refund check will be issued to you or we will apply the refund to the credit card used, if appropriate. Refer to the BTC catalog for further information.

You may withdraw from a class or all of your classes before the withdrawal deadline. If you are withdrawing (or dropping) from all of your courses, you will need to fill out an Add/Drop Form and meet with an advisor before you can be withdrawn. However, you are not eligible for a refund and you will receive a grade of "W" on your transcript. If you owe the college any money, you will still have to pay that balance.
