You have a passion for food and we have a passion for teaching – two key ingredients that make up a delicious dish called Culinary Arts. If you enjoy experimenting with food and creating unique recipes for your family and friends, why not parlay that interest into a career in the foodservice industry? In this program, you’ll learn the principles of food preparation, quantity production, equipment layout, and operation management skills, as well as delving into food science and artistry and the business skills needed to take you wherever you want to go. You’ll also learn the art of catering, ice sculpting, and food presentation.

Our graduates have gone on to intern at world-class facilities in Chicago, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Miami, and New York, open their own restaurants or catering business, and work as executive chefs, sous chefs, hospital chefs, country club managers, restaurant managers, etc. The opportunities are wide and with a career in food service, you’ll never have a dull moment!

The Culinary Arts program at Blackhawk Technical College has been honored by the Wisconsin Board of Vocational Technical and Adult Education with the Exemplary Educational Service Award and is accredited by the American Culinary Federation.
