Operators, leads and supervisors at Westlake Pipe & Fittings recently completed a series of leadership courses taught by Blackhawk Technical College instructors.

Throughout December and January, the group learned about seven topics, including Real Colors and Dealing with Difficult People, Building Effective Relationships and Accountable Workplaces.

“The sole purpose of this leadership series project was to let employees learn new perspectives and tactics to implement during their careers at Westlake,” said Brandon Pinnon, Superintendent-Production, Building Products.

Participants completed assignments that promoted teamwork and collaboration between production shifts and were given a certificate of completion at the end of the series.

“Janesville prides itself on developing our employees in different ways, and this developmental route will be used in the future for more of our key personnel,” Pinnon said.
