Change in Mask Policy Effective Jan. 8, 2022

As the College prepares to start the spring semester, BTC's Emergency Preparedness Committee (EPC) continues to monitor the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, which medical experts forecast will reach its peak in mid-to-late January. While there is evidence that Omicron causes less severe illness, its transmissibility remains concerning. Today, the EPC shared some important safety updates that will help to protect the campus community during the first few weeks of the semester.

BTC Named Forward Janesville’s Business of the Year

Forward Janesville will recognize Blackhawk Technical College as its 2021 Large Business of the Year at the organization’s annual awards luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 27. This award is presented each year to a business of 50 or more employees that recognizes business success and community involvement as two vital components of its business strategy.

BTC Instructor Selected as Student Speaker for UW-Whitewater Commencement

Melissa Dix, the lead IT Web Program Instructor at Blackhawk, will address graduates and guests on Saturday, Dec. 18 as the student speaker for UW-Whitewater's graduation ceremony. Melissa has earned her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies after beginning her post-secondary education journey in 1993.

BTC to Host Smart Start Day for New, Returning Students

Blackhawk Technical College will host an open house (Smart Start Day) on Saturday, Jan. 8, from 8 a.m. until noon at its Central Campus in Janesville. Smart Start Day is designed for students to take care of last-minute needs before the spring semester. Many services will be available, including financial aid, advising, bookstore, placement testing, laptop checkouts, IT helpdesk, student IDs, and campus tours.
