Congratulations to Cindy Leverenz for being named to The Future Talent Council Faculty and Staff Development Advisory Board. The Future Talent Council is a global strategy group based in Stockholm, Sweden that is focused on understanding and influencing the future of talent and work. Leverenz was recruited for this global position for her extensive work on talent development for employers in the College district and surrounding area.

We are nearly a month into this public health crisis. In some ways, it seems like a lifetime ago when Governor Evers issued the “Safer-at-Home” directive. Our world has rapidly changed and it continues to be a fluid situation. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to create any concrete plans for the path forward. Our most immediate concern is how we can successfully complete the Spring semester.

We know that our students have questions, and we have answers. These are crazy times, unlike any we have ever known, that are causing a lot of stress and anxiety. We are here for you…just an email or phone call away.

On March 18, all College operations, including instruction, were moved online and employees were sent home to work virtually. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we deliver education but it has not changed our commitment to our mission: flexible education, supportive environment.

Blackhawk Technical College is pleased to announce that Casey Bennett has been selected to participate in the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) District Ambassador program. The program selects one student from each of the state’s 16 technical college districts to act as advocates for vocational and technical education. Students serve a one-year term and are called upon to make special appearances, give presentations and participate in various events on behalf of the WTCS.
