Student Carries On Family Tradition at BTC

“I got my love for farming from my mom,” said Colleen Toberman a second-year Agribusiness student at Blackhawk Technical College Monroe Campus. The Toberman family has been farming in Rock County for nearly 100 years. She is excited to finish her education and carry on the family tradition.

Mercyhealth Donates $100K to Blackhawk Technical College Nursing Program

Today, Mercyhealth announced a milestone donation to Blackhawk Technical College (BTC) nursing program in Rock County. At a press conference of nearly 50 guests, Javon R. Bea, President and CEO of Mercyhealth, presented a check for $100,000 to BTC’s Nancy B. Parkers Nursing Scholars Program. In recognition of the donation, BTC has renamed a simulation lab in its Health Sciences Wing in honor of Mercyhealth.

David Hataj Named BTC 2018 Distinguished Alumni

The Blackhawk Technical College District Board is delighted to honor David Hataj with the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award. Hataj is a graduate of the Machinist Apprenticeship program and current president and co-owner of Edgerton Gear, Inc. Hataj is an outstanding advocate for technical education. He has offered scholarships to high school students and has invested significant time, energy and resources into a variety of initiatives tied to the expansion of technical education.
