“I’ve been on other college campuses where you’re a little fish in a big ocean. At Blackhawk, I feel like a fish in a smaller, much friendlier pond,” said Jaina Spielman, a second-year student in the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.

The Admissions Team at Blackhawk Technical College is not letting a pandemic stop them from helping students. “We have prospective students who are interested in learning more about the many opportunities at the College. When this ends we will need a workforce to fuel the economy and help our communities survive and recover from this pandemic,” said Katie Lange, Enrollment Development Coordinator at Blackhawk Technical College.

“If you love what you do, it’s not a job,” said Fire Protection Technician student Whitney Gerber. “I don't think the passion will ever go away for me to go on a call or to help people.” Whitney grew up in a house of firefighters and became curious about fire science at a young age. Now it is her turn to become the next firefighter in the family.
