Involvement Key for IT-Networking Specialist Student

With her eyes set on a position in an area school district, IT-Networking Specialist student Raven Schneeberger jumped into student life at Blackhawk Technical College. Raven is a member of BTC’s Student Government Association and serves as a Peer Advisor as well as a tutor. “The environment of BTC is super inviting and helpful compared to other schools I experienced in the past,” said Raven.

Blackhawk Tech and Scot Forge Partner to Offer Apprenticeships

Blackhawk Technical College and Scot Forge are partnering to offer the first Fork Truck Repair and Heavy Equipment Technician Apprenticeship Program in Wisconsin. The two organizations currently offer a Mechatronics Apprenticeship Program. Four individuals were recently signed to the two programs and will begin their on-the-job training and classroom instruction.

BTC Celebrates 500,000 miles/5 Years of Safe Shuttle Service

Blackhawk Technical College offers a free shuttle service for students that connects locations in Beloit, Janesville, Milton, Monroe, as well as University of Wisconsin - Whitewater at Rock County and University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. The College recently recognized its shuttle drivers for completing 500,000 miles and 5-years and being accident-free. The drivers recognized include: Larry Dunmore, Joann Gibson, Nicholas Hengeveld, Dan Krause, Douglas Lubke, and Robert Zechlin.
