Kwamesha Milsap Selected for Wisconsin Technical College System District Ambassador Program

Blackhawk Technical College is pleased to announce Kwamesha Milsap has been selected to participate in the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) District Ambassador program. The program selects one student from each of the state’s 16 technical college districts to act as advocates for vocational and technical education. Students serve a one-year term and are called upon to make special appearances, give presentations and participate in various events on behalf of the WTCS. District Ambassadors from across the state will be honored on April 25 in Wisconsin Dells.

Blackhawk Technical College has chosen to partner with Hobsons, an education technology leader, to launch Starfish Enterprise Success Platform. Starfish is leading educational technology that helps connect students to the resources that will help them stay on track and complete their educational goals. The launch will support Guided Pathways and the college’s efforts to provide flexible learning and impactful support for all students.

Foreign Type Cheesemaker’s Association and Precision Biolabs of Monroe to Increase Employees through BTC Scholarship Program

Blackhawk Technical College Foundation invites applicants through May 1, 2019 for the Laboratory Food Sciences scholarship funded by Foreign Type Cheesemaker's Association and Precision Biolabs. The scholarship is for students in good academic standing who are enrolled in the Laboratory Food Sciences Technician program located at the BTC campus in Monroe. The Foreign Type Cheesemaker’s Association of Monroe has designated $4,000/year to fund the scholarship beginning fall 2019.

Brodhead High School Students Get Head Start on BTC Programs

“Students are able to use the latest technology to get them used to what they will be using in the workforce,” said Brodhead Vocational Technology instructor Tim Ast. He is referring to the state-of-the-art labs for welding, machining, and nursing assistant programs at Brodhead High School. Collaboration between Blackhawk Technical College, Brodhead High School and Kuhn North America, Inc. made the labs possible. Brodhead students can jump-start their college education in Computer Numeric Control (CNC), Welding, and CNA.

BTC to Host Annual Health Fair on Wednesday, April 10, 2019

Blackhawk Technical College will host its Annual Health Fair from 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 on the Central Campus in Janesville. There will be over 30 informational booths as well as demonstrations, activities and door prizes. The event is free and open to the public.
